Hormones and their Receptor Sites-What You Need to Know

SynapsesWomen’s International Pharmacy published an excellent article on the importance of understanding how hormones work with receptor sites and the signifiant impact this has on hormone treatments in women and in men.  I often find myself discussing with my patients at Forever Ageless that it is not enough to look at blood test results and the amount and even the form of hormones being administered. We must look at factors such as symptom resolution, inflammation, medical history and more to help assess how beneficial a bio-identical hormone protocol is for you. This makes a lot of sense when you understand the role of hormone receptors and how they impact the results of being treated with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.  Bio-identical hormones can change lives for the better, when introduced safely and with great care and focus on treating you as an individual, with a unique set of receptors and cells that operate best when in a balanced state.
